NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) entrance examination will be organized by the Council of Architecture or COA. NATA is a National Level Examination from which candidates can take admission in architecture program across all over the country. NATA comprises two papers: paper 1 and paper 2. The entrance examination for NATA 2019 will be offline mode i.e. pen & paper based.
NATA 2019 Exam Pattern & Syllabus:
NATA 2019 examination will consist of total 60 questions in paper 1 from General aptitude and Mathematics while Paper 2. Consist of 2 questions in it having 40 marks. The type of paper 1 will be multiple choice questions and paper 2 is drawing test. Candidates are advised to check the below article for relevant information regarding NATA 2019.

About paper I :
The paper will include of the Aesthetic sensitivity test mathematics test. Questions are based on the imagination, perception, creativity, observation power of the candidates, communication and architectural awareness of the candidates. The time duration for this examination is 90 minutes. There is no negative marking in this section. So candidates can solve the question by their guess work. No marks would be deducted for the wrong answer.
Paper II :
There will be two questions in this section. This is well known as the drawing section. Candidates are required to draw or sketch a diagram in 3D as per their visualization, symmetry and sketching ability. The two questions contain 40 marks each. And the time duration for this paper 2 will be 90 minutes.
NATA 2019 Syllabus:
Candidates have to prepare for the following topics to get the success in the NATA Examination. Paper I: General Aptitude: Analytical reasoning, visualizing 3-D objects from 2-D drawing, mental ability based questions on – visual, numerical and verbal, interpretation of pictorial compositions, General awareness of national/international architects and famous architectural creations, sets & relations objects, mathematical reasoning, visualizing different sides of 3D objects, textures related to architecture and built environment, etc
Mathematics: Algebra, quadratic equation, binomial theorem, matrices, trigonometry, logarithms, theory of calculus, application of calculus, relations and mappings, probability, vectors, coordinate geometry, sets, permutation and combination, statistics, 3D co-ordinate geometry.
Paper 2 – Drawing: Candidate have to make a drawing with the help of given equipments on related to following topics – common day to day objects like furniture, equipment etc. from your imagination, 2D and 3D compositions using given shape and forms, conceptualization and visualization through structuring objects in memory, understanding scale and proportion of objects, perspective drawing, geometric composition, shape, aesthetics, color texture, harmony and contrast, geometrical and abstract drawing patterns, sketching and landscape, etc.

NATA 2019 Marking Scheme:
In the NATA 2019 Entrance Test there will be total 62 questions will be asked in both Paper I and Paper II. In Paper I there will be 60 questions will be asked from Mathematics and General Aptitude Sections. The question paper of NATA exam contain of 200 marks including both papers. For each right answer candidate will get 02 marks for Paper I. There is no negative marking in NATA entrance test. The Drawing Paper would be checked by the three examiners. And the average of marks is to be taken.
Tie Breaking Procedure:
If two and more candidates secure the Same Overall Marks in the NATA Aptitude Test then Tie Breaking Procedure will be followed by NATA Authority. Candidates will get the preference on following basis:
- The Candidate who secure the more overall marks in the Mathematics Section will get the preference.
- Less Number of Wrong Answers attempted by candidate in Mathematics Section.
- If tie breaking still there then candidates who have given the less wrong answers in Aptitude Test will get the preference.
- Date of birth (Earlier) candidate will get the preference.
